Move -out FAQ's For Properties Managed By Home Locators

While we're sad to see you go, we hope you find the following guidelines helpful as you prepare to leave your Home Locators Property Management rental.

Notice of Intent to Vacate
You will need to give your official 60 day notice online through the tenant portal. To Give Notice to Vacate.

  • Log in to the Tenant Portal, on the home page scroll down to ACCOUNT SUMMARY and click on the ellipsis (three dots) on the far right,
  • choose VIEW DETAIL then select GIVE NOTICE from the menu bar.
  • Once we receive your notice, our office will update your account. You will automatically receive helpful emails regarding the exit process.

Property Condition
You are responsible for returning your property to rent-ready condition. This includes addressing the following elements:

  • Rental Cleaning: Your rental unit must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. This includes (but is not limited to) cleaning the mirrors, countertops, cabinets, sinks, tubs, showers, faucets, toilets, appliances, windows and windowsills. You should remove all refuse from the property and have the carpeted areas PROFESSIONALLY cleaned, forwarding a copy of the paid receipt to Home Locators.

  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: You must also return your outdoor living space to its original condition. Please ensure you've addressed all landscaping responsibilities, including mowing the lawn, weeding flowerbeds, and replacing old lightbulbs.

Security Deposit
We will return your security deposit to you as quickly as possible. Please note: any fees, unpaid rent, cleaning and repair costs (beyond "normal wear and tear") will be deducted from your security deposit.

Remember, you cannot use your deposit as your final month's rent. If you fail to pay rent for the last month of your stay, your delinquency will be reported to the appropriate credit bureaus. We may also pursue legal action for back rent owed.
